INDOOR AIR QUALITY CONSULTING
A Practical Starting Point for Indoor Air Concerns
TESTS Environmental provides case-by-case indoor air quality consulting for commercial, residential, healthcare and institutional properties throughout California and Nevada.
We help clients organize concerns, evaluate accessible building conditions and determine whether focused assessment, sampling or specialized partner support may be appropriate.
CASE-BY-CASE SUPPORT
Focused Assistance Based on the Concern
Indoor air concerns can involve many possible sources. We begin by understanding the situation before recommending a scope.
Initial Consultation
Discussion of reported concerns, building history, occupancy, timing and available information to identify a practical starting point.
Site Observations
Visual review of accessible areas and relevant building conditions under an agreed, project-specific scope.
Screening & Sampling
Focused field screening or environmental sampling when appropriate to the question being evaluated and within available capabilities.
Document & Data Review
Review of prior reports, maintenance information, laboratory data and other records that may help clarify the concern.
Moisture-Related Evaluation
Assessment of accessible moisture, water-damage or microbial conditions when they may be relevant to the reported indoor concern.
Project Guidance
Clear documentation of observations, limitations and practical next-step considerations appropriate to the agreed assignment.
Partner Coordination
Coordination with qualified environmental or technical partners when specialized services are requested and appropriate for the project.
Follow-Up Support
Case-specific consultation after initial findings, corrective work or receipt of additional technical information.
THE RIGHT FIRST STEP
Indoor Air Quality Is Not One Test
Odors, irritation complaints, visible dust, moisture, ventilation concerns and occupant observations may have different causes and require different expertise.
- Clarify the concern, timing and affected locations
- Review relevant building and maintenance history
- Identify accessible conditions that warrant attention
- Determine whether targeted screening or sampling may add value
- Recommend specialized support when the need extends beyond our direct capacity
TESTS does not advertise a universal IAQ testing package. Availability, methods and scope are determined individually for each request.
OUR APPROACH
Measured, Transparent and Scalable
Listen
We gather the concern, building history, occupancy information and desired outcome.
Define
We identify what TESTS can address directly and where specialized support may be needed.
Evaluate
Agreed observations, screening, sampling or record review are completed for the assignment.
Communicate
We provide clear findings, limitations and practical considerations for the next step.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
NREP Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager
CIAQM
This professional credential supports a structured approach to indoor environmental concerns, investigation planning, coordination and communication of findings.
Credential information is provided as professional qualification and does not imply that every IAQ service or specialized analytical capability is performed directly by TESTS.
EXTENDED PROJECT SUPPORT
Qualified Partners When the Assignment Requires More
Some indoor air concerns require specialized instruments, disciplines, laboratory services or expertise outside TESTS Environmental's routine capacity. When requested, we may coordinate with qualified environmental partners to help assemble an appropriate project team.
Any partner involvement, responsibilities and anticipated scope will be discussed with the client. Service availability remains subject to the specific request, location, schedule and partner capacity.
Why This Approach Works
- One practical starting point for the client
- Scope defined before field activities begin
- Specialists added only when appropriate
- Clear separation of roles and responsibilities
- Transparent communication of limitations
IMPORTANT CONTEXT
Assessment Findings Are Project-Specific
Indoor environmental conditions can change over time and vary by location, occupancy and building operation. Observations and sample results apply to the agreed scope and conditions present at the time of the assessment. Environmental consulting is not a substitute for medical evaluation.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Indoor Air Quality FAQs
Contact us with the basic facts of your concern. We will tell you candidly whether TESTS is an appropriate starting point.
What indoor air quality services does TESTS provide?
Services are offered case by case and may include consultation, site observations, document review, limited screening or sampling, moisture-related evaluation and project coordination.
Do you offer a standard IAQ testing package?
No. Indoor air concerns are too varied for one standard package. We first identify the concern and then determine whether a focused scope is appropriate and available.
Will TESTS perform every requested test directly?
Not necessarily. Some specialized services may be outside our direct capacity. When requested and appropriate, we may coordinate with qualified environmental or technical partners.
Can an IAQ assessment determine the cause of health symptoms?
No. Environmental assessments can document selected building conditions and analytical results, but they do not diagnose medical conditions or determine individual health causation.
What should I provide when contacting TESTS?
Share the property location and use, areas of concern, reported observations, timing, relevant maintenance or water-event history and any prior reports or test results.
