Lead Regulations & Guidance

Resources addressing occupational exposure, lead-related construction, lead-based paint, renovation work and childhood lead-poisoning prevention.

Important service distinction: TESTS Environmental provides lead-related construction consulting, inspections, sampling and environmental testing within the scope of services offered by the company. TESTS Environmental does not perform childhood lead-poisoning risk assessments, medical evaluations, blood lead screening, case management, or public-health environmental investigations conducted in response to a lead-poisoned child. Questions concerning a child's potential lead exposure or blood lead level should be directed to a qualified healthcare provider and/or the appropriate local or state childhood lead poisoning prevention program.

USING THESE RESOURCES

General Information Is Not a Project Determination

Regulatory applicability depends on the location, building, affected materials, planned disturbance, personnel and project conditions. Agency guidance can provide a useful starting point, but it does not replace an appropriately scoped inspection or professional evaluation.

  • Confirm the governing jurisdiction
  • Define the planned disturbance
  • Review available building records
  • Evaluate before work begins
